Too Many Handoffs, Too Little Accountability
Our core team has been working in the marine fender industry since 2008. Across ports, shipyards, and offshore projects on multiple continents, the same problems kept showing up.
Marine Fender Manufacturer · China
JettyGuard manufactures marine fenders, mooring hardware, and coated steel structures from a dedicated production base in Qingdao. We handle the engineering, production, quality control, logistics, after-sales and maintenance support — so you deal with one team throughout your project. That's what "Make Light Work Of Protection" means.
Our Story
The Problem We Saw
Our core team has been working in the marine fender industry since 2008. Across ports, shipyards, and offshore projects on multiple continents, the same problems kept showing up.
The drawing says 50mm polyurea at 95A hardness. The factory hears “polyurea coating, standard.” By the time the fender arrives on site, no one can tell you what was actually applied — and the project engineer is left defending a product they didn’t control.
The first batch is fine. By the third order, coating thickness is down, welds are rougher, and the surface finish doesn’t match the approved sample. No one flagged it. The factory didn’t change anything — they just optimized for speed.
You ask for a berthing energy calculation. The supplier sends back a table with no methodology, no vessel data, no assumptions stated. You either accept it and hope it’s right, or you hire a consultant to verify work the supplier should have done.
Production is two weeks behind. You find out when you chase the shipping date. The trading company blames the factory. The factory blames raw material supply. Your installation crew is already mobilized on site.
What We Built
In 2019, we established JettyGuard as an engineering services company — starting from the technical side, not the factory side. That was deliberate. We wanted to understand what buyers actually needed before committing to how we’d produce it.
When we built our own production capabilities in Qingdao, it was to close the loop: the same team that interprets your specification is the team that controls how it gets made.
Today, JettyGuard is headquartered in Chongqing with a production base in Qingdao, supplying LNG terminal operators, port authorities, EPCC contractors, shipyards, and boat builders across 15+ countries.
Production Base
Our dedicated production base in Qingdao handles the full chain — from raw steel to finished, coated, tested product ready for export. The root problem in this industry isn’t outsourcing itself. It’s the gap between what a buyer specifies and what a factory understands — a gap in engineering context, quality expectations, and accountability. We closed that gap by putting engineering knowledge, production control, and quality responsibility under one team.
Capability
Steel frames, fender panels, ,deck bollard,s chocks and hardware are fabricated in-house at the Qingdao facility. Dimensional tolerances are verified before the steel moves to the next production stage, so fit-up issues are caught early rather than discovered during final assembly or on-site installation.
Capability
PE and EVA foam boards are sourced in specified densities, then bonded, cut, and shaped on site to match each fender’s design geometry. Keeping this step in-house means the shaped foam goes directly to the coating line without intermediate transport — which eliminates the edge damage and delamination that commonly occur when these stages happen at separate facilities.
Capability
Polyurea (SPUA) and Marine coating are applied in-house rather than subcontracted out. Coating failure is the most common root cause of warranty claims on foam fenders, and controlling this step directly — surface prep, application thickness, cure conditions — is the only reliable way to stand behind the product long-term.
Capability
Dimensional checks, hardness tests, and pull-out tests are conducted on actual production units, not generated from reference templates. Buyers receive test data tied to their specific order, which matters when the fenders are going into a port project that requires traceable documentation.
Capability
A marine fender installation is rarely a single component. It’s a system — fender body, steel frame, PE facing panel, chains, tyres, shackles, bolts, and anchoring hardware — all dimensioned to work together. We pre-assemble and match-fit components at our facility before shipment, so what arrives at your site is a coordinated package ready for installation.
Capability
Fenders are packed to export standard with loading supervised by the production team. All export documentation — packing lists, test certificates, material certs, and shipping marks — is prepared in-house by the same team that ran production. When documentation is handled by a separate trading company, errors in cert references, wrong shipping marks, and missing material traceability are common. We eliminate that by keeping the paper trail with the people who made the product.
"Make Light Work Of Protection" means two things at JettyGuard. We engineer fender systems that are lighter to handle and easier to install -- without compromising energy absorption. And we make the entire procurement process effortless -- from engineering design to factory QC to on-time delivery. Both reduce your project risk.
Foam filled and pneumatic fenders deploy with smaller cranes and fewer crew. For fixed berths, our rubber fender systems ship with pre-assembled steel frames -- bolt-on, not build-on-site.
Foam fenders: zero inflation maintenance, 20+ year lifespan. Rubber fenders: proven 25+ year durability with minimal upkeep. Every product line is designed for low lifecycle cost -- not just the lightweight ones.
Pneumatic fenders are compression-tested and certified to ISO 17357. Performance data is published, not promised.
Berthing energy calculations, FEA analysis, and GA drawings are part of every project -- no extra fees, no waiting for third-party consultants. Our engineers are your engineers from the first conversation.
We own the production line. Every shipment includes material certificates, compression test reports, and dimensional inspection records. No middlemen means no quality gaps.
98% on-time delivery across 100+ projects in 15 countries. Standard lead times: 15-30 days for rubber and foam fenders, 25-40 days for pneumatic systems. Export-grade packing and logistics managed in-house.
100+ projects delivered across 15+ countries -- on time, on spec, fully documented.
The People
When you work with JettyGuard, you talk to the people who actually manage your order. No call centers. No ticket systems. Direct access to the team that designs, produces, and ships your products.
