Solid Foam Boat Collar Systems for Workboats and Patrol Craft

A foam boat collar is hull-attached fendering: a solid closed-cell foam core under a sprayed polyurea (SPUA) skin, with no air chamber to inflate, monitor or lose. JettyGuard engineers each collar around one hull — one section profile, one total run, one fixing interface — and manufactures it to that specification.

Inside the collar: solid foam, not contained air

Closed-cell foam core. Carries the collar's form and volume. Load goes into the foam body, so the section holds its shape without internal pressure.

Reinforcement where the design requires it. An engineered element applied where the specification calls for it, not a standard fitted to every section.

Sprayed polyurea (SPUA) skin. The wearing surface that takes abrasion and contact. Finish and colour are set by the project specification.

No inflatable chamber. No valve, no inflation pressure to maintain and no pressure check before the vessel goes to work. The skin can be damaged; it cannot deflate.

Frequently asked questions

Can you quote from a total length alone?

It is a valid starting point but not a quotation basis. Two quotations for 60 metres of foam collar can describe completely different products, so the cross-section, segmentation, fixing intent and skin requirement have to be settled first. Send what you have and the review will come back with the specific gaps.

Is a solid foam collar the same as an inflatable boat collar?

No. A solid foam collar carries load in a closed-cell foam body under an SPUA skin, with no air chamber, no valve and no inflation pressure to maintain. An inflatable collar relies on a pressurised chamber. Hybrid systems combine both, and their chamber layouts differ between builders.

Can a solid foam collar be retrofitted to an existing hull?

Retrofit is a normal route, but suitability is assessed hull by hull rather than assumed. It needs measured section drawings or a template of the as-built profile, plus the structural detail at the collar line. We do not claim universal retrofit compatibility or a single standard fixing method.
